What is it like to have dyslexia? Animations & Illustrations

This is a series of animations taken from a project aimed at helping people to find out what it is like to have dyslexia. The animations were created by illustration students working with health professionals as part of our new Health Design Technology Institute. The DVD ‘Demystifying Visual Dyslexia’ can be bought on the Coventry University website. It is just one of the great examples of our students using their skills to help people.

I have dyslexia, too. quite bad acually, but get some free tutoring, it helped me concentrate more, since whenever I read words, they would move and dance and scatter all over the page, or sometimes crawl off the page, like spiders and bugs. I had to read aloud too once, and I started getting a bad stomach ache and headaches so they knew I was diagnosed with dyslexia, but please consult an adult about your issues. and let them know. good luck

Ever since I read Percy Jackson, I’ve gotten so fascinated with dyslexia. Although I’ve always known about it, but now I’ve started researching on it a lot more. I find it really sad that some people think people who can’t read (or have difficulty reading) are “stupid.” Besides… Percy Jackson’s dyslexia was the reason why he was SO AWESOME! He lost one sense, but gained another! =)
@shonishon8 same i use to suck at spelling words i do get some thats not correct but i just go back a make sure its correct
Hi i have a question i have dyslexia and i do not know if one of my teachers know it do you think i should have a talk with him because he always makes me read outloud and it inbosses me and he marks me on my spelling and you are not aloud to do that he even asked why i write letters backwords and i said ” i guess i was in a rush” so what do you think dose he know i have dyslexia thanks i hope i get some ansewrs.

man i wish i had the einstein version of dyslexia. my dyslexia isnt as bad as some people but since i think in pictures i have serious problems putting thoughts into words so my social skills are non existant, not to mention i’m dumb as a mule.

I just have to tell you how awesome this vid is at portraying ALOT of different types of difficulting reading w/ Dyslexia! Trying to explain it to people who think you’re STUPID because you learn better w/ verbal or visual ways compared to reading have no clue & I wish we had this “technology” for educating when I was a kid! (I’m 41 & still struggle w/ attitudes from “smart” people) Thank you! <3

This is the first time I visit a page speaking of dyslexia. And I did read a book of dyslexia and said it is something very special in some people that possesses.
Einstein was a dyslexic and leonardo da vinci. So dyslexia is good indeed.
That people can alter their consciouness and watch like-visions into their mind.

@ginsengchris I am talking about on YouTube, you clearly did not understand my comment. When I spell something wrong while typing a comment on YouTube, it is underlined in red. Are you telling me you cannot see the blatant red underline? It then takes 1 second to change, lazyness, to laziness, by right-clicking the word and selecting the correct one. This to me is extreme laziness, even when a machine is able to spell it correctly you still won’t?
@TheeJilliePopStudios Not for me its not. i would just say to peopel that I ADHD abd dyslexia but it does not make me stupid even that i might sometimes feel stupid. .)
@Erniesduck123 I do have it and its not lazyness. I work fall time and I study aswell. But I would like to add that I
moved to sweden 10 years ago and now speak the laungage and study in swedish to get an education, so lazyness is not the problem and on top of that I have ADHD. We have word blindness that we don,t see the word structure and yes we have WORD to help but its not lazyness. Word blind you should look it up. And its clear you did not understand the video so are you lazy?
